Want to experience local history first-hand.... on horseback? On this four- to six-hour ride, we will ride up the narrow Tollhouse grade to the top of magnificent Tollhouse rock, with an awesome view of the Central Valley vistas. Tollhouse got it's name from local land owners charging a toll to travelers accessing the original pass and logging road into the Sierras. Now only a trail through the woods, the old grade trail is excellent for horse riding. On most weekends, riders will be able to see mountain climbers scaling Tollhouse rock, and may even see the local paragliders soar through the beautiful valley. This is an intermediate level ride, so you and your horse should be comfortable on hiking trail terrain, including crossing logs, streams and steep grades.
