Looking for trail riders and info on where to ride in the area.....

I found this site while trying to find info about riding in the Shaver Lake and other areas around me. I live in Fresno and am new to the area. I board my two Arabians in the Clovis Foothills on Auberry Rd, above Millerton Rd. I do competitive trail riding, and have also dabbled in endurance riding.
I am looking for people to ride with, and also need to be shown where the good riding is in this area. I drove up to Shaver Lake yesterday to look around, but still don't know where to park my rig and ride for the day.
I might join this XGames event in September. In the meanwhile, any tips on finding people to trail ride with, or any help with letting me know where to ride in the surrounding areas of Fresno would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Welcome to the area!
Shaver and the surrounding area is full of trails once you know how to access them. Most of the area is owned by The Edison company and most roads off the blacktop have locked gates and it is hard to find a parking spot for a rig.
To start with, I would suggest taking Dinkey Creek Road and parking your rig near one of these gates (on the North side of the road) where there is sufficient room to move your rig around. There are a couple spots in the first 3 miles. That is how we do it when not in business with Edison.
We are currently designing and building the Group Ride section to the website where people will be able to post where they will be riding and meeting others who want to ride on the same day and in the same area. There will also be a GeoCaching section as well for something fun to do while you are out there riding. We am hoping that once we get more people involved that it will be the perfect place for people to meet others who love riding.

Hi, and thanks for the welcome! I tried to get to that website you gave me, but it comes up with ComCast saying the site can't be found...? Anyway...we are in the process of house-hunting in Clovis and will soon be flat-land city horse people too. My horses are only boarded until we buy a place.
