What is Orienteering?
by   dzieba on   Sat Jun 13, 2009 1:29 PM

Equine X Games was founded around the sport of Orienteering. Orienteering is the ability to 'orient' yourself with the use of only a map and a compass.

X Games combines Orienteering in the great outdoors with riding horses in a competitive style for the possibility of winning a large chunk of change.

Orienteering is not just for fun and games, orienteering can save your life when you have lost your way miles away from a paved road.

So come and take a class, and gain the confidence you need to venture out on your horse to a remote, beautiful lake somewhere high in the hills.

Oh my! I dont think I could spell my own name while riding let alone read a compass and map! haha What a great way to learn though!
